The Arden Plaster Mine opened in 1909 and was operated by the Arden Plaster Company until 1919 when it was sold to U.S. Gypsum. There were three narrow gauge railroad lines. The eight mile line from the mine to the Arden Plaster Mill at the town of Arden, an upper line servicing the mining tunnels, and a connecting tram rail. The rail grades are still visible but the site is now posted and unavailable for exploring. Urban sprawl of Las Vegas is right up to the edge of this old mine complex.
