Picotillo lies about one mile southeast of Treasure City.

After this townsite was platted in the White Pine district in 1868, its lots were extensively advertised, but purchasers found their property on the steep side of Treasure Hill "which a monkey might climb, but not a human being." A town actually was developed on Picotillo Flat in 1869 but succumbed when White Pine lost its magic early in 1870.

Rock foundations and a lone cabin remain.
